Hemorrhoids are most often caused by an overly sedentary lifestyle.

In some cases an individuals job may require them to sit for long periods, while others may have health conditions that prevent them moving around, or simply be adverse to exercise.

Regular exercise is one of the most important preventative measures against hemorrhoids and a number of other health issues. Proper diet is also a key in preventing hemorrhoids since irregular or labored bowel movements can cause or irritate them.

A varied diet with plenty of fiber is preferred to promote regularity.

Poor posture can contribute to the chance of developing hemorrhoids since it can put a great deal of pressure on the abdominal area and digestive track.

If hemorrhoids become a chronic problem and changes to lifestyle don’t seem to help you might consider surgical treatment.
